Course outline:

Duration and Commencement

Full days, Monday to Friday 08H00 to 16H30


Our registration period is not limited to a specific time of the year, due to the fact that we let our learners work at their own pace with a supervisor who deals with their individual question and assists in the development of their skills.

Course Fees - 6 Months

Candidates from SADC Member States R18 000-00 inclusive of VAT
All other foreign candidates fees US $ 5 000-00 inclusive of VAT
Only a limited number of candidates can be accommodated
A Registration deposit of 50% is payable to secure the candidates space
Ask about the payment scheme if you are RSA Citizen

General Course Aim

  • Prepare candidate for a career in the Diamond Industry as a diamond polisher
  • Go into other fields in the industry and want to acquire a background in the manufacturing of gem diamonds

Course Structure

  • The course is mainly practical and is presented in factory environment
  • Theory consist of background to the practical
  • Sketches of stones are drawn to analyze if the candidate has grasped the concept of the practical work to be performed

Course Outline

  • Correct handling of equipment
  • Cross work
  • Eight sided and basic facets
  • Brillianteering
  • Polishing the final and finishing facets by sub dividing the eight sided facets

Certification


After successful completion of all required work, and examination, (that will include the polishing of a diamond with all it’s facets) regular attendance of 95% and all fees and charges paid CDE will award the candidate with a certificate.

Application

Applications must be made well in advance because of the limited number of candidates that can be accommodated at any specific intake

  • Admission is solely at the schools discretion
  • Full fees must be paid before the commencement of the course
  • Fees are not refundable after commencement of course

Bursary Candidates

  • Information can be obtained at the school or by telephone
  • Candidates will be selected for bursaries on their performance
  • Registration takes place after all entrance requirements have been met
  • Candidate must have their own transport and accommodation
  • Candidate must be over 21yrs of age

Discipline

Candidates will be subject to the disciplinary code of Complete Diamond Education. Any candidate who is in breach of it’s code will be liable to suspension or expulsion without a refund of fees paid.


CDE reserves the rights to:

  • Reschedule or cancel classes
  • Change tuition
  • Reject an application with full refund of monies paid
  • Change course fees without prior notification
